after a long week of rain, we are finally getting some sunshine here. matt is happy to be able to enjoy the nice weather. he has been going for short walks down the driveway and has discovered that the stairs up to our apartment on the second floor of the carriage house are not as overwhelming as we feared they might be. many things about being home are better than the hospital- especially the lack of beeping here. however, it has been hard for him to get in and out of bed and the hallway here isn't all that long, which means late night pacing involves a lot more turning around and heading back. i set up a twin bed (re-acqusitioned from my friend michelle) under the skylight in the kitchen and also attached some wheels to the legs of a table that matt got from the dump. he can pull the table up to him whenever he wants, or just relax in the sunshine. soon we'll have the screen house set up outside and he'll be able to relax out there, protected from bugs and sunburns.
