a perfect ending to a perfect weekend

as part of the closing ceremonies of domenico's visit, we brought him to the first new york system hot weiner restaurant in rhode island. the hot weiner is a hot dog-like substance that, legally, can only be marketed in the ocean state. to make that hot weiner into a new york system hot weiner, they top it with meat sauce- which is similar in appearance to dirt sauce, all you glens falls folks- as well as mustard and onions.

if you order six or more hot weiners, they are served "up da arm," as the proprietor demonstrates. i didn't take this picture, as domenico and matt only ordered one weiner each, and i wasn't about to order the other four.

this whole idea grosses me out. do you think they wash "up da arm" pretty thoroughly?

they didn't have toilet paper in the bathrooms and just handed me some napkins before i went in there. i am pretty sure they don't ever wash up da arm.
