to the cape during the high season

for the first time ever in my life, i braved a trip to the cape when half of the rest of the state of massachusetts was also going there for vacation. i drove down for the day on sunday, meeting up with christian and his kids and aaron and his kids for some sunning and swimming and sand-digging. thunderstorms were predicted, but the weather turned out to be lovely and the traffic turned out to be not as bad as anticipated.
