my christmas present

on monday, when matt went in for his chemo treatment, he was told that his cell counts were too low and that treatment would be delayed for a week. although i assumed he would spend the whole week doing some aggressive christmas shopping, matt decided to use the extra time to split over a cord of wood for me here at oak knoll- not a christmas present you could buy in a store, but so much better than anything i could have thought to ask for. now, we just need to get a woodstove insert for our fireplace and we'll be on our way to halving the ole' oil bill, which currently hovers close to the $3000 mark. i guess that's just the cost of doing business when you want to wear tank tops and shorts to work every day.
