reminds me of a story...

the other day, i was over at my buddy's house- let's call him roger grier- and he had this bald eagle feather sitting on the kitchen table and i said, "mr. grier, where did you get that feather? eagles are an endangered species (or, they were at the time this story took place). you're not supposed to have that." mr. grier asked me if i could keep a secret and i said no.

but he was dying to tell me, so i let him. he said, "i was hunting for rattlesnakes in the backwoods of northern wisconsin and i looked up and there's this eagle sitting there in a tree. and so i shot him."

"are you crazy??" i exclaimed. "why did you do that?"

"well, i had never killed an eagle before and i kinda wanted to see what one tasted like."

i was revolted, yet curious, so i had to ask, "so, er, what did it taste like?"

mr. grier thought for a second before he replied, "kind of like spotted owl.

before you call mass audubon and attempt to have me fired, just let me say that that was not a true story, but rather a joke told to me by the aforementioned, non-fictional mr. grier. i thought of it today when i saw this bumper sticker on the truck in front of me:
