horseneck beach

yesterday was matt's serendipitous day. i somehow convinced him that a hike up rhode island's highest peak and a trip to the beach were both good ideas, despite the fact that he gets exhausted walking down the driveway and doesn't like to sit in the sun and can't tolerate much heat. but the hike to the top of jerimoth hill was shorter than the walk down our driveway and by the time we got to the beach, it was almost 6pm and the sun was pretty weak. although both of these situations could have been disappointing to someone who was really looking forward to a rigorous climb and then some serious sun bathing/body surfing, matt found the events of the day to be just about perfect.
