despite my lack of appreciation for them, we did check out some fireworks last night. and despite the fact that my camera has a "fireworks" setting, in which the sample photo has a perfect image of a starburst, these were the best i could do:

I LOVE fireworks! Come sit under the big ones in DC...then you'll appreciate them. The pics never turn out well--i think it's better to watch and enjoy.
unless the big ones in DC don't make any loud noises, chances are i will still find them scary. but i'll admit, some of the innovative new firework formats are very impressive. we even had smiley faces in boston.
