although the weather was not conducive to having a giant pot of boiling water bubbling on the stove for an hour, the cucumber situation had reached a tipping point and it was go-time for pickles today. i made bread and butter pickles- play your cards right and you may get a jar of these for christmas. play your cards wrong, and you'll still get pickles but you might also get botulism.
