a pig on a hot day

it was more than warm enough here in massachusetts today. matt, ruthann and i went to the natick community organic farm for a quick visit. matt and i are considering applying for the resident caretaker position. the responsibilities would include weekend feeding of pigs, chickens, goats, sheep, cows, and turkeys, as well as a woodstove during the cold months. the farm is located just three miles from our current abode and would cost about half as much to live in. on a hot day like today, it didn't seem like it would be much fun shlepping grain around to all the animals. it probably wouldn't be much fun on a cold day either, come to that. but evie would love to visit.
