i just got back from two days at the falcon ridge folk festival in hillsdale, ny. it really rained a lot and we were very, very sodden for much of the time. but it was worth it to see some great performances by eddie from ohio, and to have my picture taken with julie murphy wells, their lead singer. we wanted her to be looking at me in this photo but she claimed she has a large nose and refused to be photographed in profile. it was seriously like a deluge (and i am now talking about the weather and not her nose. her nose was in no way like a deluge and to me seemed well-proportioned to her face). water and mud everywhere. more pictures to follow.

she has a great voice. they're from around these parts, so they play often (not that i've seen them).
my sister first introduced me to their music, which she became familiar with when living in DC. you should check them out whenever possible.
